Inkscape

Inkscape is professional quality vector graphics software which runs on Linux, Mac OS X and Windows desktop computers. We primarily use this software to ready files for the laser cutter/engraver, however it is a powerful graphic design software package that can be used for any application.

Gimp

Whether you are a graphic designer, photographer, illustrator, or scientist, GIMP provides you with sophisticated tools to get your job done. If Inkscape is to Illustrator, then GIMP is to Photoshop. Use this tool to touch up photos and manipulate computer images.

Learn your way around GIMP's user interface and how to customize the workspace. GIMP is a free, open source image editor for Linux, Mac OS X and Windows.
